Beach Holiday

Snow buntings are breeding birds of the northern tundra. Most of them spend the arctic winter on the steppes and prairies of the Northern Hemisphere. A relatively small portion goes on a beach holiday to the always sunny Dutch coast. In their breeding habitat they mainly feed on insects but now, during winter, they feed mainly on seeds.

Strandvakantie

Sneeuwgorzen zijn broedvogels van de Noordelijke Toendra. De meeste vogels brengen de winter door op de steppes en prairies van het Noordelijk Halfrond. Een deel kiest liever voor een strandvakantie langs de altijd zonnige Hollandse kust. In het broedgebied eten ze vooral insecten, maar op vakantie schakelen ze om naar zaden.
